Connecting with the World
The first English Speaking Day on the theme "Connecting with the World" took place on September 25th. Students delved into the significance of English as a powerful tool for fostering communication and cultural exchanges. Students experienced using English as a gateway to broaden their understanding of the world and as a means to effectively showcase our culture to individuals from different backgrounds.
In the morning assembly, Ms. Wendy and English-speaking students captivated the audience by sharing intriguing facts about their respective home countries. During recess, younger students engaged in conversations with English Ambassadors, discussing the top three aspects of Chinese culture they would highlight to foreign visitors.
At lunchtime, S.3 students embarked on an exploration of diverse countries and cultures, delivering concise presentations. The screening of the film "Turning Red" provided insights into the experiences of teenagers growing up amidst the influences of both Eastern and Western cultures.
Within English classes, students participated in engaging mini-games featured in the English Speaking Booklet. Additionally, a China Showcase book exhibition was organized, with a quiz that tested students' knowledge about China.
