On January 24th, our school hosted the annual Quality Circle Professional Development Event for English Language teachers from six Lok Sin Tong secondary schools. The event centered around the theme "Thinking Routines to Future-proof Our Students." To kick off the event, our school shared insights from the Seed Project: "Thinking Routines for Writing." Three guest speakers, Ms. Luana Hasell, Ms. Ingrid To, and Ms. Hannah Standring, along with our English teachers as facilitators, introduced five thinking routines to the participants: See Think Wonder, Concept Connection Challenge and Change, Symbol Image Colour Zoom In, and General Sort Connect. Through hands-on experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of how these thinking routines could be integrated into language classrooms. Attendees found the workshop insightful and inspiring, with some expressing eagerness to implement these strategies in their classrooms to enhance creativity in the writing process.
