Our English Debating Team participated in the 39th Sing Tao Debating Competition on 4th November at Diocesan Girls’ School. The motion was “The Hong Kong government launching the Enhanced Supplementary Labour Scheme to alleviate the manpower shortage brings more harm than good”. We were the affirmative while Heep Yunn College was the opposition. Our team was able to present well-constructed arguments, analyze opposing viewpoints and engage in persuasive discourse. It was a highly valuable and intellectually stimulating experience for our debaters. After the competition, the two teams shared their experience in fostering research skills, logical reasoning and public speaking abilities.
