Kids4Kids, the Awardee of the Social Capital Builder 2016-2018, organized a 4-hour interactive learning experience programme for our S.4 students to identify their passion, and learn the principles of leadership and importance of civic engagement. The three workshops (1. Personal Sparks, Leadership & Nonverbal Communication; 2. Active Listening; 3. Issue and Communication Action) were conducted in English lessons on 17, 19 & 25 Oct. Our students got stronger self-awareness of leadership traits and communication skills. They had greater ability to distinguish root causes from visible symptoms of a social issue. They also became more confidence in using personal “sparks” to develop a community action idea. Students were happy to receive certificates and have opportunities to participate in the annual Powered by Youth Forum 2018, where students can learn from industry leaders, collaborate with others to make their community action ideas come to life.
